Accueil are accepted into the FMB!

29 Apr 2016 Accueil are accepted into the FMB!

We are thrilled to be able to announce that Accueil Limited have been accepted into the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) following our application and on-site inspection earlier this month.

The FMB was established in 1941 and is the UK's largest trade association in the building industry. Their mission is to ensure that their members are committed to quality and service.

Before becoming a Master Builder members must meet their strict membership criteria and pass their vetting process. As well as signing up to a Code of Practive members must confirm their trading address and VAT registration details. The FMB also check members employers and public liability insurance, verify that they have no un-discharged backruptcies or relevant and outstanding County Court Judgements and perform credit, public record and director checks - all of which they must pass before being accepted into membership.

Since 2011, all members have passed an independent inspection before joining and from 2015 all members have agreed to an inspection every three years. Member inspections are carried out by an inspector from the British Board of Agrément, an independent non-profit distributing organisation accredited by the UK Accreditation Service.

The FMB can also assist consumers who have a dispute with a member company. The disputes service offers a free concilation service and if they are unable to resolve the dispute then they can offer the parties the option to use independent mediation and/or arbitration for a nominal charge.

As well as credibility in the industry we hope that our membership will allow our customers peace of mind that we are working towards a high build standard and that we are accountable for our code of conduct.
